Quick Tour
Learn the current iVocabulary workflow from document creation to review.
The basic iVocabulary workflow is: create or open a document, organize lessons, add words, select what to study, and start a training mode.
1. Create or open a document
Choose New Document, Generate Document, Download Document, or open an existing .pvoc file. Every document keeps its own vocabulary, settings, presets, and learning history.
2. Add a lesson
Use the Add menu in the sidebar and choose New Lesson. Chapters are optional folders that can contain lessons and other chapters.
3. Add words
Select exactly one lesson and choose Add Word. Enter the source text, translation, and optional comment. You can also add an image, record audio for either language, assign a label, or flag the word.
On supported systems, Generate creates a selectable set of words from a description. Generate from Image recognizes a photographed or imported vocabulary list on the device.
4. Choose what to study
Use the checkboxes beside lessons to include them in training. You can also open a chapter or lesson menu and start a training directly for that selection.
Magic Pages give you live views such as Unlearned, Flagged, Labeled, Has Image, or Has Audio without moving words between lessons.
5. Start training
Select a mode under Training Modes, review its options, and choose Train. iVocabulary includes slideshow, learning cards, multiple choice, and written tests.
After a test, review the results and optionally repeat only the words that were not answered correctly.
6. Follow your progress
Open Dashboard for a document overview, response quality, and recent learning activity. The History section groups earlier training results by tests, days, weeks, or months.
