Import CSV and older documents

Import word lists and migrate existing iVocabulary content.

Import CSV

To import into one lesson, select that lesson and choose Import / Export > Import from the word-list menu. To import a complete CSV into new lessons, use the Add > Import > Import CSV menu or File > Import CSV on Mac.

In the preview, choose the separator—comma, tab, or semicolon—and whether the file includes lesson names and comments.

Columns are read in this order:

  1. source text;
  2. target text;
  3. lesson name, when enabled; and
  4. comment, when enabled.

When importing into one selected lesson, lesson names in the file are not used. A document-level import creates lessons from the lesson-name column; blank names go into an Imported Lesson.

Open native documents

Open .pvoc files directly from Files, Finder, the document browser, or File > Open.

Import from iVocabulary 3

If iVocabulary detects an older iVocabulary 3 library, Import from iVocabulary 3 appears while creating a document. Select the old documents you want to migrate.
