Writing systems and Unicode

Use iVocabulary with different alphabets and writing directions.

iVocabulary stores Unicode text, so source words, translations, and comments can use different alphabets and scripts.

Add the required keyboard or input source in System Settings, then switch keyboards while editing. On iPhone and iPad, General > Select Keyboard automatically can help choose a keyboard that matches the current language field.

Choose a font under Fonts that supports the script. On Mac, the font settings also provide a writing-direction choice for each word part. System text editing commands remain available for bidirectional text.

For written tests, language rules determine whether differences in accents, case, punctuation, and spacing count as errors.
